Support for First Hill
Hall Snack Sign-Up
1st Hill hall snack is scheduled for Monday nights unless said Monday falls on an extended weekend or Academic holiday. Hall snack is an opportunity for families to show their support by providing residents with a snack after curfew.
Snacks of all types are appreciated. A few popular examples include pizza; sub sandwiches; chips, salsa, and soft drinks; milk and cookies; and mac & cheese. Local families are invited to drop food off by the Hill lounge; out-of-town families sometimes send packaged snacks back with their students after extended or have snacks delivered from Amazon or a local restaurant/vendor. Popular restaurants in the area include Papa John's (811 Broad Street), Domino’s (1209 West Main Street), Devil’s Pizzeria on 9th Street, Chick-fil-A (3429 Hillsborough Rd), Jimmy John’s on 9th Street, and Guasaca (2200 W Main St).
Families are encouraged to make arrangements for payment and delivery directly over the phone or through their student whenever possible, and to have snacks delivered to Watts Circle, 1219 Broad Street, by 9:45pm, Monday night. The day and time of delivery may vary for exam snacks or some birthday celebrations but typically try to maintain a somewhat regular schedule throughout the school year.
In years past, some families have signed up to provide hall snack the week leading up to or just after their student’s birthday. If you would like to provide snack for your student's birthday outside of the regular Monday night schedule, just let me know via email or text!
It has also been a big hit for families to provide snacks or treat bags of some sort during exam time. If you are interested in providing exam snacks or treat bags, you can sign up for that as well at the link below.
If you are interested in supporting 1st Hill residents, sign-ups for Monday night hall snack are available below.
Number of residents: There are 41 residents on hall.
Food allergies and restrictions/preferences: There are three students with nut allergies, and one with a gluten allergy. One student has a pineapple allergy. Three more students are vegetarian or can't eat red meat, so meatless food is prefered!

Donate to the NCSSM Foundation!
Consider giving to the Parents' Excellence Fund, to Student Life at NCSSM, or to another of the many great designations that allow NCSSM to enhance the experience of students both on campus and across the state, and help us expand our offerings so that we continue to provide once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to our students. Gifts to the NCSSM Foundation allow the greatest flexibility to support the school’s needs by providing everything from textbooks to hall programming supplies and much, much more!
Thanks to funding from the Foundation, Student Services programs such as hall events and programs, off-campus loops, on-campus dances, movies, and much more are made possible for students each year. Recently, Foundation funds have also been used to purchase several refillable water bottle fountains, outdoor furniture, and TVs for residence hall lounges. We hope that you will consider donating to the NCSSM Foundation to support all of the programs that it makes possible.
